John D. Koutsandreas, Col., Director, Field Screening Program
Colonel Koutsandreas holds a Master's Degree in Environmental Geography from Catholic University of America.  Col. Koutsandreas serves as the Director of the Field Screening Program within the IICER.  His research interests include the use of airborne and satellite sensors to map terrestrial phenomena as well as the classification of satellites for climate-related applications.  At the IICER, he is responsible for coordinating research activities related to the deployment of improved contaminated site characterization and monitoring systems.  In addition, he is responsible for coordinating interactions among lead scientists working in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Defense, NASA and the National Laboratories.  Col. Koutsandreas has also taught graduate level courses at George Mason University in Washington, DC.
